The historical centre develops around its Romanic church dedicated to San Pancrazio. A big painted 14th century cross of the Rimini school and the crypt are very interesting. The town’s history can be learnt by visiting ANTIQUARIUM SESTINATE, where important Roman archaeological remains are kept. If you want to admire the typical countryside of the Appenine mountains, you must go to the Sasso di Simone (1210 m above sea level) which Cosimo I de’ Medici chose as a place to construct a fortified city.
